Almost everyone has favorite jeans that they literally live in or styles with every other outfit. Jeans are definitely an essential, especially your vintage jeans. You can never throw them away! They might seem old-fashioned to many, but they can be made to look really smart and modern with just a few tips and tricks. Hence, below are a list of things one can do to their vintage jeans to make them look trendier for this season.

1. Pair it up with a slouchy top

One can very easily find a slouchy t-shirt or jumper in his or her wardrobe depending on the weather. These look great with vintage jeans, tucked in fully or perhaps half tucked in if one is planning to go for a more casual look. Even a slouchy plain white or black crop top with some interesting text written in a vintage font can look great.

2. Finding the perfect fitted tee

It would also be a great idea to choose the entire opposite of a slouchy t-shirt, a perfectly fitted one; even a tank top would do. Hence, find a t-shirt that fits you perfectly with fitted sleeves, along with some cool graphic design. This definitely looks really stylish with high waist vintage jeans.

3. Do-it-yourself

A great thrift vintage find must be cherished as one can do wonders with simple vintage jeans. Hence, bring your scissors, sewing box and craft box, to DIY your outfit. Nowadays, distressed jeans are particularly in trend. Simple cuts over the knee area or several cuts all over the leg area can look amazing. You can even saw fishnet under the cuts or perhaps some floral lace border around it depending on your taste and style. In addition to this, one can also cut the bottom of the jeans to make them have flared ends; this looks good with both straight vintage jeans and bell bottom ones. The process is simple: wear your vintage jeans, mark the height, make the cut and then put them in the washer to have the perfect flared ends.

4. Roll it up

For those who are fond of something more fitted or perhaps want to try out something new, a good tip would be to roll up the jeans from the ends. You can then wear it with a simple cardigan or even dress up a bit with an elegant coat.

5. Patch work

Another interesting trend nowadays is to patch up the jeans with interesting icons and images. You can add flowers to your jeans or can even stitch some interesting icons like a smiley face or vintage rock band symbols over it. Pair it up with a plain t-shirt as a lot would be going on the vintage jeans and you would not want to overload it with the top as well.
