Paris, New York, Milan, London! They are the four fashion capital of the world, but Toronto falls just short of the list. Canadian designers are emerging into the fashion industry at a global scale and making a bold statement that creativity and beauty are embraced north of the border too.

The Toronto Fashion Week’s official name is the “World Mastercard Fashion Week” hosted by IMG Fashion. It the biggest fashion event in Canada showcasing designers’ new creations that will set trend through 2016. This year, it is held at the David Pecaut Square from October 19 to 23 with events for the public and VIPs. Most events are held either at the runway or studios where designers will be able to show exhibit their fashion-forward styles.

The ultimate goal of the Fashion Week is to provide designers a platform to connect with press and consumers. The event focuses on propelling Canadian designers to the global fashion industry. Notorious and upcoming designers are able to showcase their newest collections in front of industry professionals, media, and the consumers. In addition, it exposes the style and culture of Toronto to its residents but in a world-wide scale.
