You’ve had a long week; five full days of work, post-office work outs, the mid-week catch up with your friends or colleagues – hello weekend! First order of business before you finally unwind, the laundry. Should be quick, except for the dreaded washing instructions on each piece of clothing!

These instructions, which literally look like they are written in secret alien code, all start looking the same after going through a couple clothes. Here are a few issues the team at Simply Laundry has faced which we are sure you can relate to:

  • This and that and that and…: With the squabillion number of symbols on that tiny laundry tag, do you ever feel like you spend 80% of your designated laundry time squinting to figure out what you should be doing with that top you bought at the flea market for $15? Makes you want to do a cost-benefit analysis. Time is money after all – even more so on weekends!

  • Square in a circle, dot in a triangle: Every laundry session has us rushing to google what those lines, double lines, dots, and crosses mean. And no matter how many times we do this, it’s something that just does not register in our memory.

  • The Sorting Conundrum: Every attempt made to simplify our clothes ends up with tiny collections of two or three pieces of clothing. Whites, delicates, woollens…but wait this one is white and hand wash only, and then this scarf is delicate but the colour may run…the list is endless! Sounds like an either/or/and mess!

  • Dry Clean ‘ONLY’: When the instructions say ‘dry clean only’, you know they mean business. What about labels with just ‘dry clean’? Is it negotiable? Should I test before deciding?

How do you deal with these laundry woes? Do what we do – outsource it to Simply Laundry. Place your first order on www.simply-laundry.com with the code SIMPLY10 to get 10% off or just call +1 416 822 2720 for more information.

P.S. In any case, you can find a detailed explanation of these symbols here. Happy Washing!
